About Us

The Indianola Preschool is a warm, welcoming space nestled in the woods of the charming and quaint town of Indianola, Washington. The preschool has been in operation for more than 40 years and serves children in Indianola and surrounding communities. We believe strongly in helping to foster positive relationships between children while maintaining a solid bond with their teachers. Our students thrive in an environment that has a balance of one-on-one learning, group activities, unique art and science based projects, outdoor time, and more. We put a strong emphasis on the social emotional health of the children we teach and encourage compassion and empathy for one another.

Courtney began her relationship with the Indianola preschool as a parent. She has been the head teacher and director since 2018. Courtney has a degree in Early Childhood Education with a strong emphasis on focusing on the whole child. While exploring teaching elementary school aged children, Courtney realized that her true passion lies in the preschool age. Courtney works hard to truly meet each child where they are while maintaining a close-knit relationship with families. Seeing children progress year after year brings joy to her heart! Courtney is married and has a 17-year old daughter and an 11-year old son.

Melinda has been an assistant teacher at the Indianola Preschool since 2007. She has over 15 years of experience working with preschool children. Courtney and Melinda are an incredible team and love working together. Melinda is married and has a 21 year old daughter.
